Return and Exchange Policy

At Hart and Soul Pottery, every piece is made by hand with great care and attention. Because of the handmade nature of our work, each item is unique and may have slight variations in color, shape, or texture. These small differences are part of what makes handmade pottery so special and are not considered defects.

We want you to love what you order, so please take a moment to read our return and exchange guidelines below.

1. Returns

Since every piece is handmade and made in small batches, we generally do not accept returns for reasons such as change of mind, slight color variation, or minor differences from product photos.

However, if your piece arrives damaged or defective, please contact us right away. We’ll do our best to make it right.

To report an issue:

  • Contact us within 5 business days of receiving your order.
  • Include your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos of the item and packaging.
  • We will review your message and work with you to resolve the problem, which may include a replacement, repair, or refund.

Please note that shipping costs are non-refundable.

2. Exchanges

Because each piece is one of a kind, we cannot offer traditional exchanges for different sizes or styles. However, if your piece arrives damaged during shipping, we will happily replace it with a similar item or one of equal value, depending on availability.

If the same piece is not available, we can discuss creating a new custom piece for you.

3. Custom and Personalized Orders

Custom and made-to-order pieces are created specifically for you, and we begin production soon after details are confirmed. For that reason, custom orders cannot be returned or exchanged unless they arrive damaged or defective.

Please make sure to carefully review all details (color, size, and design preferences) before finalizing your order.

4. Shipping Issues

We pack every order carefully to ensure safe delivery, but occasionally things happen in transit. If your package arrives damaged:

  • Take photos of the box, packing materials, and the damaged item.
  • Contact us within 5 business days so we can file a claim with the carrier.
  • Once the claim is verified, we’ll send a replacement or arrange another solution that works best for you.

5. Refunds

If a refund is approved, it will be issued to your original payment method. Please allow 5–10 business days for processing.
